Winky Hand Inked
I had something of a hankering to do some drawing, inking and coloring once again, and I've been meaning to draw a house-elf for some time. I chose Winky, with her "squashed tomato" nose, big brown eyes and incessant weeping. That's supposed to be a kitchen towel or other house-elf type evening wear. Obviously, it's a fairly cartoonish style, drawn in graphite pencil first, then lovingly hand inked with one of those nice Copic multiliner markers that people far more artsy than myself, who know their inking, seem to be quite fond of. All I know is they make a nice line and don't go all smoodgy when you erase the extra pencil lines, provided you let them dry first. In addition, there was a minor hit and run by a Copic sketch marker, which also came in stylish, right for every season basic black, but with a bigger nib, so you're not coloring in pupil for ages upon ages. Overall, one of my more satisfying hand-inking efforts, since it required only minimal cleanup after scanning.
